When you configure the integration between MiiTel and Salesforce, the Salesforce user used for the integration must have the “Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps” permission.
NOTE
- Salesforce users with the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps permission can self-authorize the use of uninstalled connected apps. From a security perspective, it is recommended to limit this permission to specific users, such as system administrators, or to grant it temporarily. For details, see Prepare for Connected App Usage Restrictions Change.
After the integration setup is complete, the Salesforce user used for the integration does not need the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps permission. (This permission is not required when you install MiiTel as a connected app in the integrated Salesforce org, or when retrieving contacts and activity history integration actually runs.)
Whether the “Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps” permission is required for the Salesforce user used for the integration
| Permission | |
|---|---|
| When you configure the integration between MiiTel and Salesforce | Required |
| When you install MiiTel as a connected app in the integrated Salesforce org | Not required |
| When retrieving contacts and activity history integration actually runs | Not required |
Therefore, if you cannot grant this permission permanently to the Salesforce user used for the integration, use one of the following methods.
Grant the permission temporarily to the Salesforce user used for the integration, then remove it after setup is complete
- Temporarily grant the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps permission to the Salesforce user used for the integration.
- Configure the integration between MiiTel and Salesforce.
- Install MiiTel as a connected app in the integrated Salesforce org.
- Remove the “Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps” permission for the integrated Salesforce user.
Integrate with a Salesforce user who has the permission, then re-integrate with a user who does not have the permission
First, integrate with a Salesforce user who has the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps permission.
- Configure the integration between MiiTel and Salesforce.
- Install MiiTel as a connected app in the integrated Salesforce org.
Next, integrate with a user who does not have the Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps permission.
- Disconnect.
- Configure the integration between MiiTel and Salesforce.
- Install MiiTel as a connected app in the integrated Salesforce org.
NOTE
- If MiiTel is not displayed under Connected App OAuth Usage in step 5, integrate using the method described in Grant the permission temporarily to the Salesforce user used for the integration, then remove it after setup is complete.
